TTG on Compuserve

A few days back, Jimmy Diecker asked about the extent of TTG participation on
Compuserve.

As of now, there is occasional discussion of xywrite issues in the Word
Processor Section of the IBMAPP forum. (GO IBMAPP). Even more occasionally Ken
Frank and/or Jeff Ramsay post notes responding to general queries, issues of
policy, or customer service complaints.

Just last week, Ken Frank reappeared after an absence of 6 weeks or more. In
his postings (responding to several messages he found in his inbox) he seemed
to indicate that relatively major announcements of changes in TTG support
policy are to be announced soon. They will begin charging for XYIII support,
and TTG presence on Compuserve will be enhanced. I'm not sure what that means
except that he indicated that TTG was planning to enlist the help of "power
users" out there.

I wonder if any of you "power users" on this list have been approached, and
even if you cannot discuss publicly what is in the offing, you might indicate
that there is some plan in the works and how long it might be before it is
announced.

Just last night I sent the INFO.TXT file about this list (the on prepared by
Nathan Sivin) to Jeff Ramsay. He has agreed to post it on the TTG xywrite BBS
and call attention to it (I'm not sure how). Another thing that Ken Frank
indicated (or it might have been Ramsay) in the
Compuserve Forum was that the existing Xywrite BBS's would be upgraded and
consolidated soon. I haven't tried the one in Baltimore lately, but as of a few
weeks ago, TTG had disabled the message feature of that BBS, leaving only the
file up/down load feature working.
