Leslie,
A laptop makes sense if you intend to travel with it. Otherwise, go for
a stationary (under-the-desk) machine. You'll appreciate not only the
bigger monitor, but the keyboard as well. Laptop keyboards are fumbley.
Test Xy on any machine before you buy. If the shop won't let you,
you're in the wrong shop. Xy can be copied to a CD-ROM or USB
memorystick and run directly from the CD-drive or USB stick; no need to
'install' anything on the shop's demo machine.
