The U2 in question is, shortly, a add-on to XyWrite, written by Holmgren &
Distefano. It is a collection of XPL routines that do many many many useful
tasks via well-debugged and robust XPL routines. Moreover, it helpfully(!)
takes advantage of XyWrites help facility hooks in order to a) load (i.e.,
be available) with virtually no overhead; b) be fast and c) achieve some of
its robustness and elegance from being a collection, thus permitting some
parts to be subroutines to many others.

Some presses are perfectly happy with XyWrite. For some you can simply
replace XyWrite's markup codes with their preferred set (and preferred
delimiter). For the rest the simplest is to convert the file to RTF (which
you can do easily). They can read RTF. They may not know they can, but
they can. If they think they can't, change the extension from rtf to doc
and then they can.
