Well, yes, but keep in mind that this global change will also
remove any embedded formatting for underlining, italics,
boldface, superscript, etc.

Since the majority of formatting deltas consist of just two
letters or two letters followed by a number or numbers (the
exceptions being things like running heads, footnote separators,
footnote formats, etc.), the ideal would be to search for two
wildcard letters (L)--as opposed to any-character-string (W) or
any-alphanumeric-character (A)--followed by a number string that
ignores commas. But I don't know of any wildcard for such a
number string. If anyone else does, that's something I'd
certainly love to hear about.
