XY DOS 4.017 Update

Harmon Seaver and Ken Frank both question my report of the
"Phantom Text" and "False Cursor" bugs, and suggest (by
implication) that they might be hardware or configuration
specific.

I've experienced them on several different PC's, under DOS and
OS/2, with and without Ultravision . . . I don't think it's a
hardware or memory issue.

The "Phantom Text" problem is not related to column text (a
feature which is so "tempermental" that I *never* use it.)

However: I wonder if the fact that I have my inverted-T cursor
pad programmed for linear cursor movement might be relevant? I
know that linear cursors don't work just right all the time when
scrolling in a list box; often, you can't get to the top item.

Anyone else use linear cursors and find them quirky sometimes?
                     And to TBaehr@xxxxxxxx:
Many thanks for posting the search/extract program; it's really
slick and will be very useful. I've had a similar function (not
quite as flexible) available to me on a mini system text editor
for 15 years, and always wanted to be able to do that in
XyWrite. TTG ought to bundle it with the next release!
