Re: Word and Happy99 and things

Having just followed the link in Peter Evans' last mail I have discovered
all about viruses spread by Microsoft Word. As I use XyWrite I have paid
no attention to Word issues. So I was, naturally, horrified. Code masquerading
as  macros that go with a file?? Horrors!!!

I ass-u-me that such a thing is technically impossible with XyWrite because our files are just ASCII files. So, apart from having the best word processor for all the reasons we know and love, do we not in fact have the safest word processor? And were TTG to be actually interested in XyWrite itself and not just as a part of SmartWords, is that not a major marketing plus in this somewhat cyber-dangerous world we now live in?

So shouldn't they fix the ruddy bugs in XyWrite? And tell system administrators that if they want a safe word-processing program they know where to go?
