Re problems, problems

two problems.
I have two packages of XY4, but have never been able to get it to work
properly. Sometimes I've had it up and running, but never been able to use
my own keyboard.

Last time I tried -- yesterday -- it wouldn't let me do anything until I
"log in" and enter a password. This is a problem because I have no user
name, and no password.


Anybody got any idea about how this happened?
Other problem was with Tamedos. I downloaded, but it gave me only 15 lines
on my Toshiba laptop, where I used to have 40 lines. Also -- I hate the
type, and I don't seem to have any control over it.

I dumped it and have gone back to the mac for my serious writing, but would
rather use xy if I can get it going. Problem with xy in normal dos (windows
cmd) is that I like working in coffee shops, parks etc, and battery life is
important. With xy in windows cmd, I can't work for long on battery.


anybody got any ideas?
