Last note on this

I would like to say something, since my message (perhaps among
others, though I have no way of telling) apparently started
 some trouble:

First, if my opinions are so unpopular, or if I'm rocking the
boat, I will refrain (reluctantly and with regret) from posting
messages, or if many people wish, will leave the mailing list
altogether: I certainly would not wish to be responsible for
forcing the issue -- for requiring the list be moderated. My
intent was certainly not to start any kind of flame war, or other
 kind of contest.

I do wish to say this, however: I believe I was accused,
indirectly, of being unpleasant, mean, etc. -- and of
"poisoning the well." If I may, I'd like to take exception
to this characterization of my behavior. What I said was
stated politely, if pointedly. Ken Frank knows who I am, since
we have over the last few years traded messages in the WP forum
of CIS: if I sounded impatient it's because he has heard many
of these same things for years now and I have seen little from
 TTG.

I believe there is a distinct difference between attacking
someone's business decisions or acumen, and attacking them
personally. I think we all as adults realize this -- and as
far as that goes, I believe much of what I've ever said about
Xywrite (I have been using this product for 12 years now)
has been with its success in mind (though not its world
domination). (And BTW, when John Soyring, who is in charge of
the department of IBM which is responsible for OS/2, shows up
in CIS's OS/2 forum, he is treated not simply with politeness,
but with the utmost respect and civility -- because OS/2 users
know what he's up against and how well he stands in there
fighting for his product. They know if OS/2 collapses -- which
it won't -- it will not be for lack of John Soyring's efforts.
 FWIW.)

As I say, if my opinions are that unpopular or dangerous, -- I
certainly don't wish to jeopardize anyone's interest in this
mailing list continuing, and if everyone thinks I'm a
malcontent and boat-rocker who is apt to bring down the wrath
of Frank, I will shut up, or go. I must say, however that I don't
think anything I said was out of line, and whether or not one
agrees with what I said -- Annie -- I think the implications
which you drew -- if they were about me, since you didn't
identify anyone -- were far more impolite and uncivil than
anything *I* said or suggested about Mr. Frank.

I don't think there is much more to say about this, is there?
