Re: XP or 2000

You have answered your own question yourself.
XP does perform better (in my opinion) with regard other M$ apps. (some of us
are forced down the M$ path within the corporate environment in which we
operate)
I have found W2000 to be wuite a clunky OS.
However, you also say that XY is your primary application. You also say you
have been "assured" that XY-Dos will work in a DOS window with the Sibert fonts
(who assured you? can you test this before you buy?)

If the Thinkpad comes with 'Recovery CDs' to rebuild the OS, you could load up
each in turn and test XY in a DOS window before you commit yourself.

If all the above is correct I think Windoze 2000 is the choice for you.
