Anne,

I'm convinced (almost). I ordered Nota Bene yesterday.

I ordered Note Bene about a year and a half ago and tried to use it on a
daily basis, but was simply too wed to XyDos to make the switch, but I use
Note Bene for many other tasks, use it as a kind of go-between for XyDos
and the world of Windows. For that alone I have found it worth the price.
It preserves XyDos to World formatting better than WinWord 97+ and allows
me to use my XyDos keyboard assignments to edit.
There are, however, a number of quirks, or rather, rough transitions
between the two programs. Some things stick or hang or freeze. For a month
I sent e-mails to Note-bene with XyDos requests and with many examples
where the two programs did not meet or mesh. I always got a prompt and
polite reply, often more than one, even though we could not "fix" much of
the dissonance. I mention this only in the hope that Ms. Putnam will go
through her files and dig out all the inconsistency reports and the
requests/wishes of the Xywrite crowd, turn those over to Dave Erickson and
encourage him to tackle them, particularly those XyDos to Note Bene
adaptations that cause the program burp.
