Re: Printer help (again)

Michael--

Sometimes it will say something about DOS in the ad, but you
can also go to the HP site and look up the specs.

http://www.shopping.hp.com/cgi-bin/hpdirect/shopping/scripts/home/default.jsp

This is a sales site, but I just used it to check the specs
of HP printers advertised at discounts at places like
Staples and the Wiz--I think there were at least 5 HP models
floating around the discounters at the time. I just noticed
now, however, that the site has some kind of link to
closeouts and refurbished products. If there's an HP682c
inkjet among those, you're home free--slow, sounds like it's
breaking down at the beginning of each job, but it works.

Another option is just to email HP from that page and ask
what's the cheapest, readily-available DOS compatible
printer they make. By the time they reply, though, you could
probably research the site yourself several times over.

I found it was not at all easy to get information about the
DOS compatibility of other brands.

Good luck
