Thanks, Carlo and ac127, but Peter Goldberger (whose name I
disgracefully misspelled yesterday) has already sent me a ZIP of
disk2, which proved to be the only defective one in my set. Once I get
out from under an avalanche of work, I will have a go at the clean
install again and see what happens.
