Did you make any hardware changes to either machine or rebuild them?

Phil,
This might be the case with our used license, but why has the first one
stopped working? The educational license allows for two installs per
key. We still have a working machine upstairs with the same license key.
This seems to be a MS activation server problem. Both machines were
installed in 2015, and have been working up till now without a hitch. I
got the impression that re-activating Win 7 had been discouraged by the
company and not really an option. In fact, I was offered an upgrade to
Win 10. My son uses Win 10 and I have to manage his machine (backups and
installs etc.), which is something of a pain in the neck.
Best regards,
Kari Eveli
