As Carl said, putting EXIT as the last command solves this. Moreover, if you use the vDosPlus XyWrite installer to configure your vDosPlus installation, it is just one tick in the appropriate box. If you have used the vDosPlus installer, you can use it to reconfigure safely your installation, otherwise, just edit AUTOEXEC.TXT manually. All this amply documented in the manual.txt of vDosPlus XyWrite (also available in the documentation package http://www.lexitec.fi/xywrite/vDosPlus501_Documentation.zip for those who, for some reason, shun using the installer).
