CMD-Option-F4 works! That was easy. 

You should fix the text on the DOSBox-X-App download page, which reads:

To paste test [CQ] from the macOS clipboard, do this:

• Press Ctrl-Option-F4.

The keystroke Cmd-Option-F4,  not Ctrl-Option-F4, pastes the clipboard in the Mac version.

You might want to download the latest version, just in case something’s wrong in the one you downloaded. I made some minor fixes in the past few days.
