: BTW, what's the Xy ftp archive site address?
Hi, Dorothy:
ftp ccat.sas.upenn.edu
When prompted, as your account name give "anonymous" and, as your
password, your e-mail address. After you're logged on and told
you have restricted access, at the ftp prompt, type
binary
cd pub/eaan
To confirm that the file you want is in the [LISTNAME] directory:
dir
get [FILENAME]
Log off with "quit".
: Whenever you open a file that turns out
: to be shorter than its directory size
: shows it to be, *immediately abandon it!*
: and run nocz on it to strip out any Ctrl-Z's
: somewhere within the file. If instead you
: save it in Xy or NB, everything after the
: first Ctrl-Z encountered will be lost for good.
Fwiw, in this situation, you *may* not need to run an external utility.
Coping with it seems to be the purpose of xyWrite 4's 1A=
default. *After you abandon the file*, use the menu (thanks,
Leslie ) or command line to change the 1A= variable to 1 from
the default 0. Reopen the file and see if all the text you expect
is displayed. Dan Kanagy indicated that it works. If not,
*beware*! --annie
