The DT (Display Type) default setting controls that.
Default DT=9 (draft view, page breaks off, markers hidden)
Default DT=10 (draft view, page breaks on, markers hidden)
Default DT=12 (graphic view, markers hidden)
The rest is more complicated. AFAIK, only labels will work, but you
might be able to tweak the forms setting in a Xy printer driver to make
test invisible, but I suspect it would still take up space.
