Harry,
From the point of view of the user, Ansified XyWrite is a standard
XyWrite program that reads and writes ANSI CP 1252 files. It means:
- If you only manage English texts, maybe the difference between ANSI
and ASCII is irrelevant for you. With European languages, there is a big
difference (as previously stated in other posts).
- I suppose you have seen many Notepad alternatives: Notepad+, Crimson
Editor, Textpad and so on. Ansified XyWrite is a more powerful
alternative to these and similar programs. Then it's possible to use it
as a general purpose editor: programming, HTML, etc. etc. You can tag or
label your files inside XyWrite.
- Conversion issues disappear because every program understands ANSI
Windows files.
- You don't miss out on any existant XyWrite feature.
- In my case, I can have transparent communication with Ventura because
it can maintain its text files as external files (they are automatically
reloaded by Ventura after modifying them in Xyrite). This is true too if
you write programming code and so on.
Best regards,
Manuel Castelao
