1. Are you doing this manually, from the command line?
2. What is your memory before the sort? To check, do on command line:
va/nv $m+6
the result should be something small, like 6 or smaller.
I was just able to sort 8192 lines of about 26 characters each. Most of
them were identical, but I put in different characters into 6 or 8 lines,
and the wort went fine.
1. used is XyWrite III Plus Version 3.53
2. trying to sort file with about 4000 lines (plm 25 chars.
each), totaly plm 86000 chars
3. result of sort = out of memory
4. HOE TO SOLVE?
5. did anyone write a program (in xywrite useble for III+) to
divide the file in say 10 parts, sort these parts en than merge
theme
6. other solution? (i am using win98SE)
