classical randism? wow! I read her work when it was new, and it didn't
impress me then, either.
A lot of people love 'me first,' as long as they are the ones that come
first. Most of the biggest corporations in the world have been subsidized
one way or another, and now we see a lot of champions of free enterprise
lining up at the public trough.
I think we're getting off XYwrite here and I assume some people may be
getting teed off, but I'd be glad to pursue this, and other general
social-policy issues, on a separate member list. This happens to be a hobby
horse of mine -- I think modern society is a failure.
If anyone is interested I've incorporated some of my ideas in the book "We
Need to Talk" on my website, www.andyturnbull.com. A lot of people consider
me a socialist but I think I am less of a socialist than -- say, Boeing, or
McDonald Douglas, or Electric Boat or (now) General Motors, Ford and
Chrysler.
Does anyone want to take this up as a separate discussion?

Trouble is, the people they educate to help them become rich often
choose to take off, and make themselves rich.
Surely classical Randism is to be taken more as a valuable corrective
critique rather than as a guaranteed societal blueprint?
