Carl indicated that EDITOR.EXE v.4.017 is dated 5/8/94. Yet mine (same
numbered version) is dated exactly one year later (5/8/95)!

I notice that my XY4 v.4.017 does not have a problem with years over 1999.
I'm familiar with the "05-08-105" pattern Carl cited--I see that in XYIII
(and live with it). But XY4 gives me 5-08-1995 and 5-08-2005; i.e.,
four-digit dates. Now "Y2K" does seem ages ago, and I'm not sure I
remember what I did. Perhaps I found that setting the default date in the
"YYYY" format solved the problem? Or someone on this list made a patch
whose filename I no longer recognize...? In any case, there seems to be
another solution to the Y2K problem besides having v.4.018.

Finally, on dating the A LA CARTE menus for XYIII, the following information
appears under "XyWrite" in the menu system for my version (3.56):

Someone may have already provided this information. I was away for a week
