I have more or less solved my code pages problem, or at least have made
diagnostic progress. It seems to be Tame-related.
I had Tame set up for DOS as well as Xy. When I launch a non-Tame DOS and I
am able to load CP1252.FNT and see the accents correctly in non-Tame DOS
full-screen, when I TYPE the file that has them.
I think my ANSIFS problem has been due to Xy calling a Tame-based DOS. I
see the accents correctly (though in blinking black on white) when I:
1. Launch non-Tame Xy
2. Command: DOS/NV
3. In DOS, use alt-enter to get full screen
4. VGA FONT CP1252.FNT
5. TYPE the file with the accents
I get weird colors, with blinking or underlined, but I assume that's
because of what colors are set by the MD settings in Xy.
Anyway, this is enough on this problem. I am satisfied.
