reasons I switched: Linux let me configure the keyboard to my liking, for all

Ctrl-C doesn't seems to crash DE in a full-screen session, yet at least. and
incidentally, using full-screen XyWrite on the eeePC's 10-inch screen leaves
absolutely nothing to be desired, just be sure and specify the right font in the
configuration file.
can you print from XyWrite in Dosbox? I seem to remember some back-and-forth
about this a few months ago. I had DB running in Suse just fine but moved to DE
according to the wisdom of the list.

I am not a tweaker, either. Linux is just a platform for me to do other things --
mostly to write with XyWrite, to reliably backup 1) what I've done that day, and 2)
the entire system, so that in case something catastrophic happens, I can be back
up without a hitch inside an hour or a day if I need to buy a new hard disk. OS/2
has given me that in spades, and now Linux will.
