Anyone using vDosPlus on a Mac?

I know that Ed Mendelson has made available a porting of vDosPlus to the
Mac, but I haven't been able yet to get Xy running satisfactorily using
that on my Mac Mini. Has anyone else done that? If so, would you be willing
to either tell me how to do it (I can get the DOS prompt) or run an XPL
speed test for me? I am interested in using vDosPlus on the Mac--IF it runs
XPl reasonably fast (which vDOSPlus doesn't on a Windows machine).
