I sometimes use Postscript on the rare occasion I really need precise
or fancy font-ing, so I may try it. But I seem to remember folks have
printed in color from Xywrite with native drivers??

Well, but with a difference: it's got good OS/2 drivers as well. For
real. The Printer Properties has two or three "extra" pages, one of
which allows you to -- finally -- set options for raw printing. The
Job Properties are kinda heaven-sent, too: four different Print
Properties settings from Quick Print 600dpi to High 1200dpi. Also
2-sided printing, a separate page for color & halftones settings, and
software indicators for cartridge ink levels. Delivered for about 250
bucks, and I think -- thanks for reminding me -- there's a fifty-dollar
rebate if ordered before 3/31/99.
And a real nice Courier, btw.
