OK, if you REALLY want a tilde, even though you're not going to be
able to see it except in expanded view, and it ain't gonna print
either if its the Designated Hitter, and besides it works perfectly
well for me under NBWin v5.002 just as a plain one-byte tilde in the
SHIFT table key 41 -- but you REALLY want it, so here goes. Put this
assignment in the KBD file where you would ordinarily have the tilde,
e.g. on shifted 41 (U2 must be loaded):
nn=NOJM2,.,P,r,s,K,b,d,A,r,g,Q2p,u,t,c,h,a,r, ,7,e,h,CO,1,NO
This works around any possible DH nonsense or any other impediment
and by god it PUTS that tilde in your file. Or puts any other
character, for that matter...
>From the CMline the command is:
putchar 7Eh,1
or
putchar 126d,1
