This analogy seems inaccurate in various ways. At no point, I think, did
Microsnot do anything to encourage the game-playing, MP3-downloading
masses to adopt Win2K, and few ever did adopt it. Whether or not you
think it's worth the extra money and the trouble of installation, 2K
was/is a major change from NT4; the differences are certainly not just
cosmetic. Indeed, many people are sure it isn't worth the trouble; in
the cramped archipelago where I happen to live (one with a notoriously
docile and commercially gullible population), NT4 appears to be more
widely used than 2K.

You hate Microslot. I hate Microsplat. We all hate Microshit. Yes. Can
we all, please, take this as read?
