Thanks for the reminder about these built-in methods. I had tried
them in the past and abandoned them for reasons I can't remember. But
I've revisited them briefly just now, and they seem to work nicely.
One big advantage of the WinKey-Ctrl-V method for pasting into Xy is
that there's an automatic code page conversion from Windows to DOS (a
feature that Robert H.'s CLIP.EXE has but that I didn't attempt to
reproduce in VCLIP).
The copy filename LPT4 method for copying to seems to work well, too,
and is easily automated in Xy4, which can overwrite files without
confirmation with the SA[D]/NV command.
In any event, I'm going to stick with these built-in methods for a
while and see how it goes.
