There are two separate issues here:
1. Sites one visits that won't load properly (or claim they won't, but
they often do, or well enough to go on with) if you're not using
Exploiter.
2. One's own ISP's Web-accessing routine, which will tell you you don't
have a browser if you don't use IE or have your firewall set to prevent
its acessing the net. The latter is the real problem, to which, of
course, the solution is to find a decent ISP that is not in Redmond's
thrall, but can be an awful hassle.
