I use 3 word processors regularly, including Word Perfect 6.1W. I had
to give up on its newgroup, because I can't deal with its average
traffic of 80 messages a day. The XY list, which covers all versions,
is at least manageable. As for programming, like XY, if you want it
to do obvious things that the developed did not think of, there is no
other way. I haven't found a way yet in WP to assign "delete word
backward" to the ctrl-bksp key, where it was meant to be. No one on
its newsgroup was able to help me. There are some very helpful people
on both lists, but I have had more customization problems that
couldn't be solved with WP.

Of course if you don't want to customize, consultation and programming
are irrelevant in both cases.
