I have 4.11. After I moved "MW mx" to a location at the end of XWSTART.INT, I
stopped experiencing PVs. Interestingly, its the Install program that put that
code into XWSTART.INT; I would never have known about it. *If* that's the PV
culprit....

 I think you're misremembering the genesis of OD, and misstating the intended
function. When Sig came out, people were excited about the Graphic mode, but
they couldn't stand the left offset, because in large point sizes (or high zoom
values), the right side spilled off the screen. So, in v1.01, OD emerged,
which overrode the offset display -- in Graphics mode! That was a blessing.
If you look on p.31 of Xy4 Customization Guide, you'll see that it is still
intended to "hide or show the offset in graphic view or (sic) formatted." I
take that to mean, WZ or WG -- don't you?
