Am I even shorter of sleep than I realize, or going bananas, or what?
Granted, their placement isn't the only concern about footnotes--but
footnote placement is the one major irritation I derive from XyWin. To
repeat a previous message [sorry!]: even with a single, fairly modest set
of footnotes of sensible length, I frequently have a note pushed to the
next page. (I don't know for sure if the "major" word processors can do it
better but do know from my own experience that XyIII+ can.) Haven't you
been troubled by this? And if you have, what was the remedy?

Dear Mr. Evans,

Try using the following values for The BT command and make sure it is on the top line of the
document, ahead of any text or spaces. Also read carefully pages 4-125 to 4-126 of XYDOS manual (or
6-22 to 6-23 of XYWIN manual.)

BT .75,1.3,.75,6.0
all units in INCHES.

If you need to adjust some of the values, try to add (or SUB) the same amount from each of the 4
values. Certain values of the four variables MUST be larger (or smaller or equal) to other
variables for Footnote placement to work properly.

The relationship of the variables is critical.

Additionally, the latest version of XYDOS (4.017) had its capacity to handle heavily footnoted
documents increased.

I hope this helps you handle footnotes better.
