Michael, glad it worked out. A further thought: what sort of printer
cable are you using? Because HP is rather punctilious about having
genuine, gold-plated (literally) IEEE cables. Also fussy about the length
of the cable (workable in inverse ratio to the speed of the system: my
old Epson Stylus Color 800 would run off a 12-foot cable from the old
120Mhz laptop, but balked at a 9-foot cable from the K6-2 333Mhz.).
