As far as Y2K goes, we went round this mulberry bush in 2005, when Bry
was compiling his history of Xy versions. At that time, I came across
and cited a post from Myron Gochnauer on Aug. 19, 2004:
≪If I recall correctly, 3.58 corrected a Y2K problem with earlier
versions, but other than that no improvements were announced (nor
noticed by me).≫
As for 3-in floppies, I'm pretty sure all the full releases of III
were on 5-inch ones, but XyQuest did send out some patches, updates,
and .prn files on 3-inch ones.

(timeline) about Oct. of 2005 for the whole megillah.
