I think it's a splendid idea to send messages in Italian to the list. (1)
I can't understand Italian, but I can have fun trying. (2) It might
encourage others to send messages in other languages that I can understand.
(3) It's a much-needed reminder to complacent and lazy "native speakers of
English" (or at least to my complacent and lazy self) that English is not
the sole language of the world.
Can you write in Venetian? In Ladino?
I thought I remembered reading that XyWrite used to be sold in Europe under
a different name. (And no, not "Nota Bene". A name never used in the
US--of which Japan, where I am, is an extension.) So no European would
have heard of "XyWrite"; but for every three hundred or so using
WordPerfect, one or two would be using Xy-called-something-else. Is my
memory as bad as usual?
