They're vertical and horizontal measures. If you specify only one, you get regular type size. If you specify a different value for the second one, you get squished or expanded text. I'm not sure; this may work only for Speedo fonts, and perhaps only for printers with Hewlett Packard's PCL language (or an emulation) - I know it worked at least as far back as PCL 3. I don't know what version of PCL is being shipped now, if at all.
Experiment; it's fun! (I *think* the changes show up in Graphic view mode, so you don't have to
waste paper printing stuff out. And I *think* the width tables still work, so justification and
other line-width stuff should still work.)
