Re: The Y2K problem

Sorry to be so late thinking of this, but the "Y2K" problem is *so*
important, especially for you excitable Americans (see
http://www.mercurycenter.com/breaking/docs/012769.htm ):

X-Listprocessor-Version: 8.1 -- ListProcessor(tm) by CREN

I am informed that we have already produced updates for the two current
versions of XyWrite (4.017 for DOS and 4.12 for Windows) which address the
minor Y2K issues of which we are aware. We have not prepared updates for
any other versions nor have we determined how these updates will be
distributed or what, if any, special accommodations will be made for users
of older versions who wish to upgrade to the current releases.

We will post an announcement on the list as soon as these issues are
resolved.

There y'are: a definitive message from The Boss, verbatim and unabridged.
The updates have already been produced. In fact, they were produced a
half-year or more ago. Now, before you can get the update to XyDOS 4.017
or XyWin 4.12 you'll just have to wait till the Technology Group
"determines how these updates will be distributed". Any other company
would simply post on its website .ZIPs of executables that would patch your
program. But, thank the lord (and pass the ammo and stock up on the
dehydrated food), the (indeed The) Technology Group is not just any company!
