You mean the window border? Do you set DeFault NW=3 in
SETTINGS.DFL? It's the most convenient New Window setting, IMO. It
forces windows to open or close automatically when files are opened
or closed, without leaving directories hanging about needlessly (as
happens with NW=1). When the window closes, the border disappears
as well. Try it.
Additionally, you can dedicate a key to restoring full screen with
nn=DXSWf,DO
-> Must go now and look at User Variables.
By all means. There are slews of them, but don't feel compelled to
to master them all at a sitting. U2 will automatically warn you if
you try to run a UserVar frame that hasn't been customized and, if
you choose, will spirit you to the variable requiring attention. So
take your time, and enjoy.
