Hi John,
Yes, the LOW directive is the only config option dropped in vDos 2017.08.01 because it automatically set for the memory for its internal shell. However, for compatibility purpose I decided to add it back to vDosPlus. Thus, vDosPlus build 2017.08.19 now again includes this config option. Hope this helps.

Wengier,
The config.txt option
low=on
now generates an error message on startup, though vdos still loads. Removing the line doesn't appear to reduce available memory, as reported by xy3. A search of the new config.txt suggests this option no longer exists(?)
This version appears to be faster than any previous one. Again, many thanks for your work.

Subject: vDosPlus 2017.08.01 is now available
Hi all,
The latest version of vDos, version 2017.08.01 was released by Jos Schaars recently. As a result, the corresponding version of vDosPlus, i.e. vDosPlus 2017.08.01 is now available. This version features some major changes such as FPU support. The 4DOS shell has been dropped in the original vDos in favor of its minimalistic internal shell, but you can choose from the two shells to use in vDosPlus 2017.08.01 (4DOS 8.00 is the default shell because it has more powerful command-line functionalities such as LFN support; the 4DOS shell can be disabled with the SHELL4DOS=OFF directive). You may want to test this new version to see how it works with XyWrite and other DOS applications.
