Re: Saving to USB drives from VDOS

Paul,
However, what I really want [...] is to be able save the file that I currently have on screen to the USB drive

Since you (too) have the latest U2, I would do it this way:
1) Paste the following into XyWrite, position the cursor before the first line, and command DEC to decode:

XPLeNCODE v2.0 (ENCODE.A3X)
b-gin [UNTITLED]
{091}SAveTo{093}[cr|lf]SAveTo.1={<}SV50,H:{>}[BX_]sa[Q2_][BX_]
exist {<}PV50{>}*.*[Q2_]{<}IF@not({<}ER{>}){>}{<}SX51,{<}VA$FP
{>}{>}[cr|lf]SAveTo.2=[BX_]dos/nv/x/z /c cmd.exe /c copy/y {<}
PV51{>} {<}PV50{>}[Q2_]{<}IF@not({<}ER{>}){>}[cr|lf]SAveTo.3={<}
PRSAved and backed up to @50{>}{<}EX{>}{<}EI{>}{<}EI{>}{<}PRSA
ved{>}[cr|lf]
-nd
XPLeNCODE

2) Copy the decoded material into XYWWWEB.REG.
3) Edit "H:" in the first line to correspond to the drive letter of your USB drive. SAve XYWWWEB.REG.
Now SAVETO should both do a regular SAve and a SAve to your
USB drive. If the drive is not ready, it just does a regular SAve.
