Dear BillIn FontCreator the metric is called 'Line Gap.' There seems no reason why changing that should change anything else, but who knows? As Michael has said this is a general problem with NB and you can generate it with many fonts depending upon the type size you select. I am using Windows 2000 which so far as I know does not have ClearType installed. I am looking at an LCD monitor, 1280x1024 or 1024x1280. The effect is there in both orientations.Paul Bill Troop wrote:Paul, is this 'line gap' (which I thought was a Mac-specific value) or 'typo line gap' you're changing? In any case, why can't NB get their wretched program to work with this most standard of Windows fonts? Are you sure your editing program is keeping all the extremely sophisticated hinting information in Verdana intact? Is ClearType on or off in your installation (and are you using an LCD?)
