Dear SysOp:
A couple of questions:
1) Ever since I installed v4.013 (along with Orbis), I've noticed that editing
becomes *very* slow (positively Signature-like, or worse) after printing.
Speed is normal *until* I print out a document. Also, I've begun to see what
appear to be memory-management problems -- for instance, "Can't run command"
when I try to shell out to DOS. Also, problems running Software Carousel: I
can switch from XyWrite to another program, but can't switch back. None of
this happened with v4.011. Again, the problems seem to kick in after printing.
I recall that v4.013 purported to fix a chain-printing bug. Is it possible
that the problems I'm seeing grew out of that fix? Did some old Signature code
perchance creep back into Xy4? As I say, the performance is *very*
reminiscent....
2) Speaking of Signature, I recently spotted a brief review of "Signature for
Windows" in one of the PC mags (PC World, I think). *Is* there a "Signature
for Windows" and, if so, is it different from XyWrite for Windows? I thought
Signature was a thing of the past. On the face of it, it seems ill-advised to
distract attention from the main event (XyWin) with a Signature sideshow. And,
while I'm at it ...
3) ... Will I be able (finally) to display and print Cyrillic characters in
XyWin? N.B. Lingua is nice, but I'd much prefer to do all my writing in a
single program. And ... any word on when XyWin will begin to ship?
