Aside:
The recent exchange about U2 glitches has finally prompted me to
update my copy, which, as I noted with surprise, was already over a
year old. I now have the latest version of U2 installed. Opening the
INF file and paging through it in any mode and at any speed produces
no crashes whatsoever (under Win98). 104 in my keyboard file is
undefined (the blank entry that looks like a space), since I use that
key for a TSR program I run with Xy. Just another point on the graph.
Main query:
I've looked through the various updated and additional functions in
the (highly impressive; thanks Carl & Robert) U2, but one function I
have been wishing for doesn't seem to be there. Is it possible to
have Xy search for a string in all the files that are open at any
given moment? In my case, that's usually multiple files from various
directories. When a match is found, I'd want the option to either
continue searching (through the current file and then the next open
file and so on), or stop at that point. Such a function would be
quite handy for me, and I have been toying with the idea of cobbling
something together in XPL, but I thought I'd ask the masters first.
