That should surely be fast enough. For others who might not know,
many mobos, and all but very high-end laptops, have the VGA
adaptor integrated into the mobo, and--and this is the kicker--it
has no dedicated RAM of its own, but shares the system RAM. So if
you have a gig of RAM on such a system, you probably are NOT
using anywhere from 64 to 128 or more Mb, which is being used by
the VGA circuits.
Running under cmd.exe or command.com?
Uner either: Slow and jerky.
Really strange. Not here under Vista. It seems improbably that my
habit of running Xy off another drive or partition could have any
efect? (On the Vista laptop, for reasons too complicated to go
into, my D: drive, for DOS apps, is actually a camera memory
card. It works.)
