Myron,
Well I will step in bravely in the apparent absence these past few weeks
of all the Wise Persons save for Tim and Nathan. And if they're here
today I expect they'll have a definitive answer for you. Until then:
I'm really uncertain that you need any of that stuff, but then again
maybe you do. Tell me this: do you run XyWrite 4.017 from a DOS Window?
(I don't) or do you work from the desktop and simply click on "my
computer," and then c:\xy4\editor? Or, do you use a "shortcut to editor"
icon on your desktop?
If the former, try the latter. If the latter, try running XyWrite in DOS
mode, and create separate autoexec.bat and config.sys files for that
purpose.
Another question: do you always need to have the dictionary loaded? You
might set things up so that you only load it when you need to
spellcheck--but maybe that's not possible for what you need to do.
Cheers!
