There have always been some bugs in the way that Xy updates the screen, and
what you describe sounds like it might be one of them. In my experience, they
are more common in Page-Line view, but can sometimes occur in Draft too.

As for solutions, you might try putting in a few pages of filler text at the
top of the document which will shift it around in memory and may eliminate the
problem. Not very elegant, and works only some of the time.

If Xy had made it to the 32 bit world, this is something that might have been
fixed . . .
