Carl, my question is...don't people have to be a member to post to the group?
How are they getting in?
Have these recent attacks all been the kind that use the address book on an infected machine (so
that a legit member is
an unwitting proxy)?
Or is it possible to hack into the list-server and send to whatever list one wishes?

I'd ask the U.Penn. IT people about the anti-virus measures they've
adopted for mail-list traffic, but (grrr) they don't answer my mail
these days. Be that as it may, recent experience here and on the
NotaBene list shows that infected messages will find their way in,
so self-help (HEAR THAT, XYKZ?) is the order of the day.
