OS/2-- when I first joined this list and found so many people using it, I
asked if it was a feasible option, but Robert Holmgren told me that if I
got a second-hand original OS/2 (the only way I could afford it), I'd
have to add a ton of upgrades, patches, and tweaks, so I decided it
wasn't worth it.
My dire suspicion about the 9x compatibility question is that AMD-based
systems are far more likely to be 9x compatible than Intel. I won't
necessarily allege conspiracy between Intel and MicroSludge, but AMD has
always targeted the gamers, and a lot of them ran DOS games for a long
time. The new office machine is AMD, so I am very curious to see how
XyWrite will run on it.
