Well, that's peculiar; on my system I get the behavior you want. I have,
for example, this line in PERS.SPL:
batikkerrij batikkerij
(I also just put in "btt batteriefach".)
They both expand precisely as you desire, preserving case. You realize, I
assume, that there are _two_ functions involved in Xy4, not just the
single function of 3+: either the old AR (which expands just one word at a
time, and has to be keyed manually each time you want to expand an
abbreviation), or else new func AZ, which toggles auto-expand
(a.k.a. auto-replace) on or off semi-permanently (and restores the `real`
auto-replace which was removed from Xy3+ in v3.56). Apart from
duration, the two functions act identically.
Start from scratch again; you've got something wrong somewhere.
Make sure PERSONAL.SPL (or whatever it's called) is LOADed
(command "va/nv $SP" on the CMline). You realize, I'm sure, that
auto-expand only works while you're typing (i.e. not when you're editing,
or manually changing the spelling).
