Re: ot ram - which is faster one stick of 16gb ram, 2 sticks of 8gb each or 4 sticks of 4gb ram

Your motherboard's RAM slots could be a factor, depending.  I have a couple older ones that seem to be limited to 2GB per each slot maximums, and with a total of 8GB. supported.  Others may have similar restrictions, down to latency or other things.  Your MB specs should tell the tale, or you can go to Crucial.Com and use their configurator tool to report compatibility by computer brand & model -- although what it reports will be skewed to those products they sell, rather than competing brands.  Perhaps other suppliers like Corsair do something like that also, at their sites.

Subject: ot ram - which is faster one stick of 16gb ram, 2 sticks of 8gb each or 4 sticks of 4gb ram

Dear fellow xywriters

Does anyone have an opinion on which configuration of 16gb of ram-1 stick of
16gb, 2 sticks of 8gb or 4 sticks of 4gb is best.  What is the least
expensive way to get 16 gb of ram.  Are there other factors to be
considered.  Is the speed differential so slight that a human being would
not notice the difference.
